2 Pre-purchase Questions
I'm looking at a '75 Targa right now and a couple of issues came up:
Targa Top: It's a fixed rigid piece and doesn't fold up. It looks nice but is it right?? Did they switch to a solid piece at one point? Will it fit in the front trunk? Paint: The paint inside the engine area has a gold layer of something all over it. It looks like gold paint but you can etch it away with a fingernail to find the actual car color underneath. Is it some sort of coating they used or ?? It's a little baffling. Thanks. Scott

Sounds like a factory targa hardtop, which is pretty rare. IMO an improvement over the folding top. The factory used it as standard in 75 because it was cheaper than the folding top.
Most US targas were ordered with the optional folding top |

The fit and finish is fantastic on it. The underside headliner feels like rubber with headliner-like perforations.
