I wouldn't go that far, but it seems like it will be pretty fun.
Well, In about an hour or two I will embark on a 700 mile trip to the big sleazy for a buddies wedding. No A/C and all. I have to be out of town before sun down so I can get out of Deer Severe country. Probably stay the night in San Antonio or Houston.

Two birds, one stone
Perhaps you should switch out that solid glass window for one of the early rag type targa tops.
That would save more weight and cool you down at the same time.

If I was going to go through that much trouble, I would probably do the fiberglass roof like widebody thom is doing. Eventually that will probably be the ticket anyway.
