Tach pegs when key turns on!!! Help?
The title says it all. THe tach pegs out as soon as I turn on the key. Car runs fine. Has anyone seen this before? What to do?

Hi Alex, I have the same problem (intermittently) - if I understand your description correctly. Here is my original request for assistance - rpm with a mind of it's own? I never got any reply. If this is the same problem, then let me know if you figure out what is wrong!!!

avendlerdp - how old is your car?
My '76 ROW Carrera 3.0 developed this problem this year - tach was occasionally pegging and always erratic - solved the problem immediately by changing the points... Worth a try (if you have points!)  Warren
