Clutch Helper Spring Position

I reinstalled my engine and transmission yesterday. The helper spring contacts the SSIs and seems to be holding the large lever out of place. the clutch pedal seems to operate the clutch but doesn't return to top position. Is there an adjustment that needs to be made with SSIs or did I do something wrong on the helper spring install?

Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin, I believe the "omega" helper spring can be installed upside down. Look at Wayne 101 for a reference.

I am still having problems with my clutch adjustment. I just rebuilt both the engine and transmission including the actuation levers at the transmission. The fork was broken and had to be replaced. The omega spring is in correctly. I removed it and reversed it to be sure but it wont work the other way at all. When the pedal is released the spring does not return the large arm. When the pedal is depresed fully the omega spring is actually off of the pin on the transmission. I now have the adjustment so that the clutch actuates at about 3-4" off the floor and it rests at about 5" off. There is no clearance between the small and large levers and the cable is adjusted all the way in as in the nuts are on the back end of the cable. I am out of answers or even guesses as to what is going on here.
Suggestions please.
Thanks,
Kevin

If you are pulling the omega spring off the holding pin it sounds like something is installed incorrectly. Depressing the clutch pedal should increase the load on the pin. Yes, I had to fold the seam of my SSI 's for some additional clearance for the spring. Just run some folded over paper between the two surfaces to verify clearance, it will be fairly close.
