Porsche Crest 930 brakes to 928S4 brakes??

What all is needed convert 930 struts & brakes to 928S4 calipers. How much of a difference is the S4 setup over stock 87 930?? Anyone have the details on a site that I can copy for a friend??

TIA

Wow, that's quite a list.

Oh. Was there a post in there somewhere?

Yep, asking about +&-s of switching from 930 to 928S4 calipers and what other than the caliper adaptors would be needed for the swap. Can we use the 930 rotors or do we have to go to 928S4??

My VCI supplied 928S4 conversion uses 930 rotors. I don't know if there would be any performance advantage to converting.

My runs a shop that builds huge HP turbo cars for people with small penises

He will be looking for a 930 block to build out as soon as his racing season is over.

Well Bill, my searches came up zero, on PP and elswhere. What bugs me is I know it is out there as I had the info saved on my old PC

Our race car came with 928S4 fronts & C2turbo rears, I switched back to a 930 set up I had on my other car. Dislikes, the weight, and adapters. I also felt I would need to go to a brake bias to dial up the rears. I like the fact that the 930 uses the same pads front & rear. I swap them front to back after ea. event for even pad wear. Lighter than the 928's. I very seldom use the 930's to their full potential on the track. The 928's seem like over kill. Read Vic Elford's book where he talks about braking.

that could only mean it's covered ground. if this was a uncharted brake/strut/rotor question, if bill did not know the answer he'd sure research it and let you know.

I posted so many video links so I don't know

Here's one more:
http://www.itsfun.nu/ITSFUN2_Summer_2004.mov

And dyno movie:
http://www.itsfun.nu/itsfun.nu_dyno.mov

I specifically asked him how brakes were performin on the 'ring, and he said that they were perfectly OK, no overheating or fade or anything. I believe he runs Pagid Orange pads. Scoops are cruical for this.

Gumba,

I don't have Vic Elford's book. Can you characterize, in a few sentences, what he had to say on this issue? I assume he said that more brake isn't necessarily better. True?

Probably? Otherwise it's just a matter of stuffing more steel wool into silencers...
