GUESS THE WEIGHT of this car '71 RSR - in for corner balance and alignment today
OK,
Don't have any up to the minute photos here (so the one below will have to suffice, which is about two weeks old). I brought my car to Jae Lee at Mirage International last night for his complete bump steer, corner balance and alignment treatment (bikini wax and facial to come soon!) SO.....guess the weight of this car. Chassis Details: 1971 sunroof - delete tub, 1986 3.2, SSi's, lightweight mb911 muffler (15lbs), 915, fiberglass hood and duck, steel flares (four corners), 9.5 x 11 x 17 fuchs-centered, bbs barrell wheels, stripped wiring harnesses down to bare minimum, (did retain power windows), no AC, no heater box upfront, lightweight battery, SPARCO EVO2 seats w/ custom 4lb base brackets, lightweight RS style rear seat delete carpet kit. Brakes are '86 Carrera, AL trailing arms. Lightweight - gear reduction - starter (7 lbs, instead of 15). AND 5 gallons of gas in tank. Aftermarket Oil cooler system, 72 row front mounted cooler, stainless braided lines, thermostat. Finally, oversized torsion bars, 21mm + 30mm F&R, w/ Tarrett front sway bar installed and DE rollbar. To be added (not included in the today's weight): Tarrett rear sway bar, Tarrett front strut brace. ![]()

So, if someone guess correctly, they win the car?

Jim,
Sorry, the car is not "hanging in the balance" of the correct guess. I can assure you it would be a very nice prize, however. There are enough of these threads out there that I thought the low weight gurus would be able to nail it with 10 to 20 lbs? Doug

BTW, If you want the corner balance to be right, you should really corner balance it with the weight of the driver in the driver's seat. A few bags of concrete will often do the trick if the driver is not available.

Nostatic,
I'll be weighing it on the moon in future threads, as well as hitting up a few other planets and solar systems. Stay tuned.... I'm guessing 2320 lbs myself (on Earth). That's a pure shot in the dark. Doug

Yes, XMAS is coming early!
I'll be anouncing the weight as soon as I know probably Thursday. To answer several inquiries: I believe I can OFFER this to the winner: THE UNCONDITIONAL ADMIRATION AND RESPECT OF YOUR PEERS! While hard to put a $$$ value on, in many circles (especially uncivilized tribes), that is LIFE's ultimate prize. Sound FAIR?? In all seriousness, thanks for the interest! Doug
