Cayman RS -- lower weight, 340 hp

I saw this on www.onlyporsche.net.

Here's the link.

And here's a partial scan of the Newsweek article.

Wow thast some ugly photoshop work......... Love how the leading edge of the wing, stolen from the current street GT3s, is angled upwards.

I'm actually liking the Cayman more and more. Cayman RS - now that would be great!

Here are some pics I took in Stuttgart on the weekend. A bunch of Cayman (Caymen??) on route into the factory (there was a yellow, red, and two in silver probably on a press run). Crappy pics, but hey, I didn't expect to see them.

I've nver been a Boxster fan but I love this car. The possibilities are endless. I want one stripped down with a turbo motor.

Sub 3000 lbs would make this a killer car. Strip out the interior, put in a roll bar, GT3 Seats and a fire breathing motor and this could be the hotest car for the $$$

Well the kid is still in me.

I want something simple to update my 914-6s and 911s. I don’t
want switch adjustable ride height and shock rate. I don’t need
A/C here in Colorado. I don’t mind side curtains. I never listen to
the radio; I like the song of the engine and tires. I want
something small, nimble and lightweight. Four hundred
horsepower and two thousand pounds sounds about right. This
is close to a Spyder coupe as I can get today. I don’t mind water
cooling and EFI. There are some outrageous benefits there. So
what if I carry a laptop instead of a timing light.

It also doesn’t mean that I abandon the air cooled brethren.

Here is the 3.4 engine for the ’06 Cayman: “

Those photos weren't of a "press run." We don't get into the car until October.

They should have given the car 997 lights or come up with something better or perhaps different to the 987 ones it has.

I know they did it to save costs but hey come on, hit us off with something new.

I hope Porsche will give it more power so it doesn't get beat by M3's and M5's and whatever V8 coupe Mercedes has.

Need to see one in front of me before I pass final judgement. I hope it has more presence then a boxster.

I like the idea of making one lighter - 60k to start still makes an early 911 3.6 swap my choice thou
