It all comes down to personal preference.

"Weight"
On the street.....does it matter a whit? Nah.

I like 'em, I'll buy em.

why anyone would buy close to 30lbs wheels for $3000 confuses me...I like the RUF product line, but these weights are NOT good for a stock setup 911 that wasn't meant to have these types of weight on them...

Because they like them is reason enough. Don't like 'em? Then don't buy 'em.

Some people actually drive and enjoy their cars instead of analyzing everything to death.

And suggesting the chassis can't handle them, puhleeze.....

I've been lucky enough to get to try both the heaviest wheels (Ruf) and the lightest (Gotti).

There is truely a performance difference. The car is much more nimble with the Gottis. And I personally love the way they look (I know they arn't everyone's cup of tea).

But there is a high price to pay for the lighter wheels. When they are tuned and running true they are wonderful, but every couple of hundred miles, or a pothole on the road, whichever comes first, they (the front) have to be rebalanced.

On the other hand, I've put thousands of miles on the heavier Ruf wheels and they never need attention. So these are my preferred wheels for street driving. Just my .02.

RUF Wheels

Finally today I got the package from Pfaffenhausen, Classic Speedlines 8" and 9"*17". Yeah. The RUF front is painted ready to be fitted. Then I have a complete RS-interior waiting and new seats.

I also got a steering wheel from RUF.

Kris

Heavy wheels throw of your suspension, bad for braking and accelerating. People should pay some attention to wheel weight.
Porsche's are road going race cars, you don't see F1 cars with heavy wheels. Just my opinion, leave the bling to the esclades etc.

Iíll be the first to admit I donít know my *ss from a hole on the ground when it come to the finer points of wheel selection and weight variances.

Anyway, I would like to comment on calling these wheels "Bling"; I would have to disagree with those statements. These wheels are not "Bling", instead I would say itís a "Status" thing to have the Ruff wheels as to any regular non PCAR person they are just 5 spoke wheels, not very attractive against any other wheel per sayÖelegant yes and simple in form but what regular person will really appreciate it beyond that?

That being said w00t! for uber status points when your sporting your Ruff wheels and for the guys who have the ponies to pull the extra weight..cool cool!

Amen.

I bought em because I like em.
For street wheels, they work just fine....
