These are a bastard!! at least for me. If I was to do mine again I would use something to bond the seal to the glass, a glass shop should have something? My problem was keeping the trim in place while installing it. I have tried tape and it didn’t work worth a *****.

My body guy complained that it was a b!tch too, so don't despair. Have you seen this thread? It might help with the rest of your install.

Ok forget the "seal all" another hour and the rubber is still not all the on the glass... the groove for the glass has like two channels in it .. which channel is the glass supposed to go into the innermost channel or outer channel?

It's not unusuall to tape the seal in place on some windows. You might also try laying the seal in the sun to soften it up just a bit. Glueing the seal onto the glass as you mention would probably work also, just a bit time consuming.
I'm not familiar with EZ St. and Memory lane. Is that anywhere near So Cal?

Yes time consuming and very messy... I just tried that method in a small area and found it to be very messy and not much help... I have two channels in the glass groove ... which one does the glass actually supposed to go in ? EZ street and memory lane? Its actually in Holden Maine...BTW do you know Dick Hertz from Holden?
Every rose has its thorn is rather appropo for this thread as I think I just got pricked by the thorn of the 911 targa.....

Holden, Maine aye???? My ex-wife ran off with her dentist boss in 1984. He then relocated from Seattle to Holden...I've been thru Holden a few times; nice area, but I don't stop to get my teeth worked on!!!!!!

Sorry don't know Dick Hertz from Holden Maine. Might want to ease up on your grip a bit, see if that helps.
As for the glass seal, the glass goes into the uppermost channel. The lower channel is where the flange on the body will set into.

Thanks Kevin ... so the deeper channel closest to the inside of the car is for the wires and the slightly shallower channel closest to outside the car
is for the glass.... seems logical enough but when things dont go together you must step back and consider the ilogical sometimes...... I just cant believe after doing the front windshield the rear window is so much more difficult.....I WONT GIVE UP!!!!

forget the wires.... lost cause! just getting the window in is a chore, Me thinks the factory had a rolling stock of individuals who could stand to put these in for one month, and then gave them 11 months on the riviera for compensation...

put a string all the way around, put the seal on the chassis, sit window on seal, you have to push the window forward to the front of the car then down, once you get it forward pull the string, when it ready to go down push the string, the glass guys couldnt get mine in, it took me 45 minutes, you may want to get some soap or silicone spray, the window has to go forward then down, Kevin

AAAhhhh yes the ilogical method has shown itself... I just finished instlling the glass when I came in and read your post...I taped the rubber to the glass set the whole thing in place and put a strap accross it with light preassure and removed the tape took up a couple clicks on the strap and began pulling my string If I ever do it again I will try the rubber on the chassis first....
Thanks everyone for all the help!!!!!!!
