Angry Speedometer light replacement

How the heck do you replace the speedometer light on a 87-911?

I tried tugging on the spring loaded red plugs from the back but couldn't get them out!

Can some one please HELP.

Pull harder. Use pliers. Soak the socket with penetrant. It's stuck, that's all.

If they're spring loaded, you probably have to push in and turn in order to free them. Just like a turn signal bulb.

Thanks guys. I had to pry the lip to nudge the light socket loose.

Figure I should try to change the bulbs since the displays are a bit dim.

Changing the bulbs won't help. All our displays are dim.

Finally got around to replace the light bulbs. It does look a bit brighter.... although I don't think it is worth the trouble unless you happen to have the guages pulled out.

I had to replace the steering column cover so I decided to replace the bulbs in the techometer.
