911 PCA club coupe .. extreeemly rare .. but is it highly valuable ?

Porsche is making a VERY limited production of just 50
911 club coupe cars in recognition of the PCA 50 year history

1 will be retired to Porsche museum
1 will be raffled off ..for FREE to a lucky PCA member
so only 48 will be sold ..and buyers are only selected by random drawing for thier chance at buying one !

So is this car going to be a highly valued collectible ?, that you should buy if you are lucky enough to be selected ???

There is only a small number of them ..but at its $99,000 cost
..do you think the future value could be much higher ..meaning to buy as a investment for high returns ..or a fad car ?

I think it will have some added collector value eventually, but like the 89 Speedsters, it will depreciate to some level, then hold a better value than an "everyday 997".

I saw the one Porsche brought to Hershey last month, it was very nice, I liked the standard option groups, and it basically comes with everything you'd want in a fast cruiser.

-the blue paint is very metallic, so try to see one in person to see if you like it. I found it too "sparkly!" but others may like it just fine.

I was thinking there 'Might' be a intrinsic value on top of the 99k as the car model is so rare.

So ..its not worth buying one ? .. if you had the chance or just pick up a 997 with the options you wanted

The problem I think now is that since the 997 is so new, who knows if Porsche will make up 5 more "collector" models in the next few years. They seem to be doing a lot of them lately so, if they come up with an RS or GT ect... the PCA model may not be so significant. But, hey, it is unique, and I think that optioning it in a similar manner would cost about the same, but you wouldn't get the extra power, or the unique color, so hey it's probably a cool car to own.

Personally, I'd buy a regular model with the power option before I got in line for the PCA version. But so long as the 997 ends up as a collectible, the PCA version will likely be worth slightly more. (But not like a Speedster. They're a different story -- easily identifiable at a glance. This model is only different when someone shows you the little badge.)

I think this one will be high value collector car. In the past, special editions such as the Weissach 911sc, the 25th anniversary 911, etc were standard issue 911s with some tarting up. The increased horepower and higher specifications of this edition will additionally enhance its collectability-in the future.
I still can't afford one.

It would take 30 years for one to break even on this "investment". Five years from now it's lost half it's value. Assuming that it's a garage queen and you never drive it, it might hold its depreciated value and then over the next 25 years it might creep back up to what you pair for it. Not much of an "investment". If you were going to buy a 997 anyway, it might be something to look into though.

You need to read the fine print on the Porsche web site about the cost of this car! $99,000 is the price but...you have to pre-name the Porsche dealer for delivery than PCNA walks, and you then "negotiate" the price with the dealer. Value will be determined by desire and that dealer. You probably should tell them to deliver it to Montana, where they sell more trucks than sport cars.

Just for example the local Ford dealer has a GT 40 and the suggested price from factory is $160,000....dealer price $270,000 and the dealership says they have some serious inquiries, although the thing is still in the showroom.

If it was a 997 club SPORT not Club Car. Light weight = higher resale ie. 73 RS 911 R, 911 ST, RSR, 911 Carrera Cup car. Give us a real limited edition. This limited list that we can't always get in the US list can go on for a while. From just about every mfr.

Just do a comparison with previous model "limited" additions and that may give you an indication of value over/under cooking models.

ie '88 aniversery cars don't really hold a huge premium over the regular carrera's.
