Doug, I usually check the Great Lakes forum, but I've been so busy at work and home I guess I forgot to. We had such a good time that we're going to spend 2 nights next year and bring the kids with us. We also stopped by the farmer's market (next to the square where we were) and bought a bunch of organically grown produce. The Steinkeller had great food and fantastic German beer, especially the Franzikaner Hefe Weisen. The Elms Hotel was great and the parking structure was watched by the local police all night. We had about 5 cars there from Michigan, most were from Ohio, but we had 2 from Ontario and 1 968 from Maine!

Bill G, You must have been in Oxford too! We also drove the whole way (554 miles) with the Targa top off and I have the sunburned scalp and ears to prove it! I'll see if I have some pictures of your car and post them here.

Made 515 miles on a tank. Refilled for a total of 19.8 gallons. That's 26.1 mpg. This is with some spirited driving through the Napa Valley wine country and Hwy 1 in N. California

Hey, Art. The wife and I went to a B&B in Ludington for our 9th anniversary. Much needed time away from our three little boys. And, yes, my scalp and ears are fried!

) We were not very well prepared (no chairs, etc.) so we didn't stay very long. We left about 2:00. Next year we'll stay longer and maybe participate on some of the driving events. I'm hoping to get my brother involved as well (he has an '03 Boxster).

Doug, Thanks again for the pictures! I took pictures of every car there, except mine! We will stay 2 nights next year and bring the kids. We had a great time, but driving 554 miles in two days wore on me a little. We had to leave at 2:00pm on Saturday, so we missed the driving events but we'll be sure to do them next year. Oxford is gorgeous and they really put out the "red carpet" for our group, didn't they? We drove down Hwy 127 from Jackson, MI and saw some beautiful countryside and farms.

Mine gets such good gas mileage that I need to stop for more oil long before I need more gas. Doug, I must've missed the thread about when you got the '70 T. Looks great.

My wife and do a 2,000 to 6,000 mile road trip every summer in our '79 SC so we know a bit about mileage. Strangly, our best results are in very hot weather and traveling 80 - 85 mph. Best mileage has been about 27 mpg.
