Pictured is a "yoke" The engine stand adapter doesn't have the arms of the yoke, just the half ring that bolts to the motor.
I would assume that you use 3/8" threaded rod cut to length with nuts to mount the ring to the engine stand.
-Chris
EDIT: I can see now that when you said you needed 16inch long screws you must have meant 6 inch. No need for threaded rod if that is the case.

Here are some (poor) pictures of how I've attached mine.

The flat black spacers are black pipe I cut to length. The shiny black part is the yoke/adapter that came with the engine stand - four arms that adjust to mate up with bolts & bolt holes, in this case, on the adapter ring.

I have a few

If you are going to use the Mainly by design one - I'd recommend spacing out just a little futher than a regular engine stand adapter goes - otherwise it's a real pain to get clutch, flywheel etc.

I am using the Mainly one and that's where the literature said to use 16 inch bolts. Could that be right? Home Depot only had 10 inch, which already look too long!

I have 4" bolts - if I was doing it again I would space em out to at least 6 - pref 8"

You really have to measure the motor mount you are sticking them on - measure almost the other side of the carrier (from Mainly) then add the thickness of the motor mount (the yellow on mine) then add the spacer - just make sure the spacers are strong. Then you get a total for the size bolts.

Question: The adapter ring is fastened to the two bolts protruding from the left case halve, and then four bolts from the engine stand attach to the adapter ring.
So, the entire weight of the engine hangs on two bolts from the left halve of the case?
3-400 lbs on two bolts?

The ring itself supports the case quite bit.
