Around 16-22 with E85, turbo, heavy foot :)

Around 15-16 mpg around town, but if i mix in some freeway driving, it goes all the way to 17. :mad:
This is pretty much unchanged in my '88 Targa from the day i bought it (1992 with 4K miles on it) to today (127K miles)
It's driven "rapidly", not "maniacally", no leaks. Needs a quart of oil every 1000-1200 miles, plugs always look good after major service, car is stone cold unmodified, so where's the gas been going?

Hoping with new induction and new EFI this year, I'll bring up both of those numbers.

I've got a related question. I race an '82 US SC. I've never gotten serious about how much fuel per unit of time on the track it consumes. Below about a quarter of the stock tank it starts cutting out on long corners, so I have to leave a margin, but want to finish just a bit above my minimum weight.

Gallons per hour? Gallons per minute? Anyone calculated this for an SC on the track?

I'm only getting approx 15-16mpg for a fairly mildly modified engine.. 3.1litre, ssi's, monty muffler.. runs beautifully, plugs are clean...
I could lean it out a little more I guess and see if that makes much difference

• 25 MPG @ 80 MPH (averaged for over 367 miles)
• 23.5 MPG @ 70 MPH (averaged over 200 miles)

Better mileage at 80 than at 70!

32 gallons to go 703 miles equates to 22 mpg. Stayed about 75-80 mph.

Last August so 90F out. Real 2.7RS, meaning MFI with correct space cam etc.

30 MPG and 70 mph, 25 MPG at 80 mph... 2.4L EFI targeting 14.7:1 and ~50 degrees spark advance at cruise :)

I was searching the forum and found this thread - interesting comment in first post. Deja vu all over again…

Anyway, I wanted to post that I am getting a whopping 12 mpg around town, with some aggressive driving. UGH. Seems really poor. Top end re-build 5 yrs ago, Any smoking gun to look for?
