Another tire question: 225/50 R 15 Yokos on Early 1968 Fuchs?
I saw a set of brand new Yokos (Do not remember the model) but are the ones with little holes on the sides, this guy does not want those anymore because rubbing issues with the rr fenders , so I am wondering if they will fit an early SWB 1968 with the original fuchs. Currently I am running Toyo Proxes: 195/60 R15 and my car is lowered.
Love the tires and they will be on sale pretty fast. ![]()

As a reference point, I had 225s on the rear of my narrow body before I flared it. They did not fit. But those were with 15x8 Fuchs. 225s might be a bit more narrow on 15x6s or 15x5.5s, which I think you might have if yours uses the original Fuchs.

If you are running the original wheels, the tire bulge would likely be excessive - not great if you are looking to improve the handling.
It all seems to depend on the car (they all vary a little) but I would say they would not fit the SWB fenders - they are a stuggle with the 69 onwards as it is. Can you trial fit them with the wheels they are on now? I'd say very slim chance of coming remotely close, but worth a look if you can - they would certainly look great! Ash

I think 205 is max in your application and even those look a bit big for a 6" rim. I'd stick with what you've got.
P.S. I thought 5.5x15" was stock on 68's.
