I would like to put a Euro Plate on my front valance but I have never had any sort of plate on there at all so I have no mounting hardware to speak of. The front valance has two slots in it that are about 5/16" tall and maybe 1/2" long. That's it. The problem I have is that access to the back of the valance is extremely tight and won't allow my hands enough space to get up there and secure a nut to any bolt I might stick through the hole.

You can buy the US license plate bracket for the car (not sure if PP sells it or not and it snaps into the two rectangular slots on the valance. Then you have to fab up a couple of steel straps to extend out for the euro plate. On the other hand, maybe the eure bracket is available in the U.S.

There are actually a couple of plastic inserts that snap into the holes in the bumper and the bracket is screwed to them. Buy the inserts and the appropriate screws and make your own bracket out of steel or aluminum flat stock, if you can't find the Euro version for sale. JR |

I tossed the license plate bracket and then drilled two holes in the license plate that lined up with the holes in the valence that held the bracket and mounted the plate directly to the valence. Only reason I'm running a front plate is I kept getting stopped for no plate but never got a ticket.

Scott,
I used threadserts (also called rivnuts). They are rivets with threaded nuts attached. You can install them into sheet metal and put an M6 (or whatever size) bolt through it. Works great and very clean. I installed my rear license plate in this manner. I have the tool to install and have threadserts you may have. Doug

You need the following parts. They are available from a dealer. The plastic inserts may occasionally be found at a supplier that sells clips to body shops and the screws/washers can be had at a good hardware store but, for parts this cheap, its not worth much of your time to track them down. You'll need 2 each of: 999 591 354 02 plastic insert 803 955 637 rubber washer N 011 524 7 steel washer 900 187 115 02 screw, 5.5x16mm You may be able to get this stuff from somebody selling a front valence. It came with all new 911s. JR |

I was lacking a front bracket for mine, so I fit a round peg in a square hole. I bought two rubber expansion plugs (I'm not sure if they were 1/4" or 5/16") from Home Depot (in specialty fasteners) for the square valence bracket holes. I split a galvanized framing stud joiner in two with a hacksaw and cleaned them up with my bench grinder. With some creative re-bending and hole-drilling, I fabbed up two elongated "Z" shaped brackets.
I used nylon screws to mount the brackets to the rubber plugs (there's a brass threaded portion inside the plugs that expand them as the screw is tightened), and nylon screws and nuts to mount the plate to the brackets. It's all very solid when everything's buttoned up and there's no metal-on-metal at the bracket-valence mounting point. It's a clean solution for less than $5. |

I don't mount the front plate for driving. Only for inspection

The square plastic inserts are available from your FLAPS, as well as the screws that go into them. I had to buy them when I first got my car, I think I found em at Poop Boys.

Here's mine (as you asked me before 450).
![]() As you can see in the above pic, I used the stock US plate holder. I was lucky with the plate because the holes lined up perfect with these holes in the below pick. ![]() The holes I'm speaking of are the ones with the white arrows pointing to them. I used 2 washers that were a little bigger then the above said holes on the back side of the plate holder.It's what I could do at the moment, just to have the plate on.
