Looked on Pelican...no can find for my 5 speed Turbo G50 trans....
Ideas?

Here is the high torque starter on Pelican. To my knowledge this should work on your setup.

I just replaced my starter on my 3.2 NA (915 however) with high torque model sold by our host. I've included a picture of both the stock and high torque models.
Using other posts and a tech article from our host, I used three #10 washers to extend the thickness of the flange on the new starter. I also had to convert the type of connector on the ignition wire. The old starter had a screw, while the new has a slip-on post (no clue what the technical terms are for these connectors). I had to take the flange (or whatever its called) off and turn it to fit on my 911 while still keeping the heater hose attached to the heat exchanger. According to my PET catalog, the starter for the 84-86 and 87-89 are the same part number, so I agree with Brandon above that this model should work for your application too as long as you have the stock starter now. ![]()

If I recall correctly, it's typically around an 8lb savings, depending on the original and aftermarket unit selected.

So are all mid to late year starters have the same physical configuration, ie no matter if a G50, G50 turbo, etc box?

Craig, I believe the starter is the same for all models of the same year(s) since the 87-89 PET catalog contains notes for parts that are specific to Turbos. There is only one entry for the starter. In my (very limited) experience if there was a different part for it, there'd be two different part numbers and a note denoting which one applies to the turbo version. If in doubt at all, I'd call our host during business hours and ask them - they've helped every time.
Dan, while the stock (old) starter in that picture is a bit closer to the camera, the size difference is amazing. I didn't have a scale on which to weigh them at the time however.

Excellent! Thanks all for the help.
I had a Hi Tq in the 915 3.6 - it cranked over faster and made uhm, much more pleasing sounds than the old clunker. The Turbo needs a new starter - the solenoid is acting up and at times it quits in mid-crank.
