I love that look, without the graphics, even. Wow man!

What about silver center caps on the wheels, and are you doing a chrome early style mirror?

Looks beautiful however you slice it though......

red964 04-11-2006 01:07 AM

Just wondering why you painted it with the doors on, the wings on and the rear screen in?

What about the visible door inners etc etc.

am i missing something?

Doug&Julie 04-11-2006 03:01 AM

Can I vote to keep it "graphics free"? ...or is that too plain? I just love the clean look. :)

Can not wait to see the Final Product......................

Nice work .

Nice work Don!

Porsche Doc 04-17-2006 04:01 PM

Here is a pic of the early lach panel we put in finished.
We cut out the 964 one. That way the steel hood would latch the right way.

Doc, just so you know, this thread caused me to go out and by a 92 C2 just to do this conversion.

Everything looks pretty straight forward but, I was wondering what you did below the rockers where all the lines and jack points hung down. Did you relocated those things or did you just black them out or something? Whatever you did, you can not see them anymore. hahaha

Thanks
Mike

Semi Flat Black spray can is the ticket! ;)

Mike Hall 03-04-2011 04:59 PM

hahaha, that was what I was thinking.

Time to start collecting parts for this conversion. Too bad a 66 912 wont work as I am parting one out now that has all the parts I would need.

Mike

Mike Hall 03-17-2011 11:52 AM

Doc, did you guys just use body filler in the sunken in areas on the rocker panels?

Mike

Porsche Doc 03-17-2011 01:03 PM

We welded in some peices of sheet metal in them, and then a little mud.

Mike Hall 06-08-2011 08:15 AM

Don, may I ask what you guys did with the oil cooler and AC condenser to make room for the front turn signal buckets? I just got the front bumper off my car and there doesn't seem like there will be room for the buckets without relocating the oil cooler and AC condenser.

Thanks
Mike

I sent ya a Email with my contact info. Give me a shout... :)

Osufan 01-24-2012 07:19 PM

Barrett Jackson purchase

I spoke to the owner and he was hoping for $70k and was bummed he drew the Thursday night slot. Wanted prime time. It was on Speed and I taped it. Paid $49k plus the 10% buyers premium. Having it shipped to Seattle by Park Place Ltd.
He added a super charger and blue seat belts. Or said he did. The guy on Speed had great things to say and lots of people were stopping by for pictures. I have to see about getting a copy of the 07 Excellence magazine. This thread was very cool to read.
Hope to connect soon.

edit: Porsche Doc-lively discussion, huh, that's great! Osufan- here is a thread I started about the sale of your car, feel free to post about it there...http://forums.pelicanparts.com/off-topic-discussions/653066-barrett-jackson-1990-porsche-rsr-tribute-coupe.html

trader220 01-25-2012 08:53 AM

There is only one way to "draw" a prime time slot at that auction and thats to pay for it

redturbo911 01-25-2012 09:45 AM

Great looking car. Tough choice between the red or blue they all look great.

willcall 12-20-2013 04:05 PM

HEY DON !!! SmileWavy
Long time no speak .

that should read “here is the 73 rsr IAN is building “ …

By “building” I mean not really doing anything other than spending money I cannot afford , on overpriced parts that take up room in the garage meaning I cannot work on the car

It’s a vicious circle :D
