The original white RSR's with red or blue grafx came with solid colored centers. The rest had the blk with frosted paddles. I agree ya really can't go wrong! I told Mike to paint them solid. They ship out tomorrow. So I also ordered the BIG meats for them today. Thanks for the input guys! We are gona roll the chassis in to the paint shop one day next week. I talked one of my customers into leting me just slide it in before we did his Turbo. Thanks! Squerly.;) So it should be out of the paint shop in a couple of weeks. Ya Man!:D We have now figured out the treatment for the rockers sections. :) It looks like things are gona move a little faster on it now for a wile. So Stay TooNeD ;) SmileWavy |
I thought The RS had solid coloured centres on the 15x6n7s
The RSR I thought had the black/mattegrey wide 9n11x15s. Im personally like the genuine RSR ones but each to their own I think coloured centres with polished paddles is a good modern interpretation without too much bling.. this post could just run and run on colours alone. |
Did the wheels ever make it on this car?
|
Hey Guys!
The wheels are in and the tires are on. The car is in our paint and body shop now. It will be painted in a couple of weeks from now. Mike Lindsay did his usual great job on the wheels. Here is the first C4 with Fuchs on it.:D Please excuse the pics I'm no photog Man! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1141781543.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1141781578.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1141781601.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1141781630.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1141781657.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1141781679.jpg |

Thanks Don - they actually look pretty good (the wheels that is... ) Not that I would think anything else of your work -
|
Doc
You made the right choice. IMO the solid blue looks great. |
WOW Nuff said! Going to be my next project as soon as I get caught up:)
|
Don,
VERY VERY NICE, can't wait to see it after paint!! |
Don,
Coul you pass on some advice as to the best way to attach the splitter to the bumper? Did you use fasteners, screws, bolts or? Thank you. |
So Don, any offers for an excellence write up? It should be unique enough to make it in.
|
Don, your backdate is looking great. Mike did great with those backdate Fuchs. This could open a whole new floodgate of backdaters. Boy a 964 B.D. widebody with air etc. could sure make a nice daily driver. You sure got me thinking about my next project and I haven't even got the last one out of the bodyshop (don't ask).
|
Thanks Guys!
Were really having a lot of fun doing it. This project has been a nice little challenge. A brain is a terrible thing to waste. :D Everyone in the shop is getting to have a hand in the project. It's a great moral booster and helps break up the normal every day Porsche stuff. ;) I can't wait for it to be out of the paint shop. Jimmy is moving along very nicely on it. |
Doc very nice!!! keep em coming (I mean the pics) its my inspiration for my 81 that is getting backdate:) :)

We use 4 mm bolts and washers with nylock nuts. The reason we use bolts so if the splitter get damaged we can change it easer. SmileWavy |
Don,
Thansk for the tip. I'll get some bolts and nylock nuts this weekend for my install. |
Looking good Doc, you may spawn a whole new genoration of back daters

Yea, There has been a little discussion about it. Jim Pasha has been in taking pics and watching it's progress. Were looking to have a nice wright up about it. But it aint etched in stone yet. Maybe you guys ought to Email Pete Stout the editor about it. It seams like all the west cost guys get the nod mostly. When it come to stuff like this. Maybe it's because of the nice work and that the shops are in Excellence back yard. It makes it easier for them. I Don't know. But I agree it is worthy!:D So I hope they do! |
