Frosted Fuchs (RSRstronomy)
Who is Harvey? Is he the only guy that does perfect RSR wheels?

Probably Harvey Wiedman (sp). If you want the RS(R) finish, you can also try Al Reed in the LA area. I had a quote of $700.00 to have my 7x9 Fuchs finished like that from Al. I should note that the price was not direct from Al, and included some labor and transportation charges. You would have to call to get an accurate quote.

Yes - only Harvey does perfect wheels - go to the 911S bbs and search there - you'll find a thread that compares both people.
If by 'perfect' you mean 'fine' or 'ok' then Al Reed will be a bit cheaper and faster.

Has any wheel refinisher come up with a way to do an RSR look that doesn't require special care and feeding? I love the look, but in my particular circumstances, I'm less in need of 'correctness' than I am of a finish being pretty much maintenance free. My wheels get changed at least once a month, and the RSR finish wheels I've seen so far are sensitive to both brake dust and fingerprints.

RSR finish are the pain to upkeep, one of my 911 has the RSR finish.
My other car I had my brother powder coat it to look similar to RSR finish but much easier to upkeep. Unfortunately he will not do the black painted middle section, I had to paint that myself. pic attached of the powder coated wheel ![]() |
