Wheel Alignment Before/after Results
Hi
I had the wheel alighnment done on my 911, it was done by a local specialist who drives an SC. Here are the before and after settings. n summary, they took out the negative camber on the front tyres to save wear, and put some toe on the rear wheels to prevent the car being 'taily'. I am concerned about the rear toe. Will this setting promote tyre wear and / or put undue pressure on the rear wheel bearings? BEFORE: ![]() AFTER: ![]() Any comments appreciated from the alignment gurus. Many thanks, RG5. |

You can compare to my recent alignment specs:
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/248792-carrera-back-road-suspension-brakes-pics-post2220550.html#post2220550 Yours looks more conservative so I wouldn't worry about it. Factory specs are given in degrees so I'm not sure how to compare.

Always an issue...degrees is degrees.....BUT when you start converting to "inches"...you need to know where the measurement was taken...at the edge of the rim or the edge of the tire? Problems, problems...( of interpretation, I mean).
Smart Racing Products web page has a conversion table...I'll see if I can find and post it. I know I did before... and it may still be in the archives if you do a search. Wil

Thanks guys, the car is mainly for street use, but I have taken it on a track and most likely will do again, but it will be fairly intermittent track duties. This means I dont want "normal" settings and would like a sporting setting for the wheels.
The car feels pretty good, seems to like the power through corners. Whether it feels "better" than before is largely a matter of opinion. I dont think it turns in as well as before, but that could be due to the fact that he set the tyre pressures too high at the front. I guess i'm still checking it all out. RG5 |
