SSI's on without a broken stud

Well, SSI went on wiyhout breaking a stud. I cant believe it
I have over the past week been soaking(nightly) the barrel nuts and std 12 mm nuts the the po used previously. The HE 's on the car had long since passed toe point ofusefullness, and based on thar I thought I was going to have a problem. But it was amazing how freely they came off. I had also been soaking them perioddically all summer , but thought that every time I run the can I was negating the effect of the PB blaster due to heat .
The place that PB did not work was on the oil line at the thermostat. I could not free up the line to the tank to get at the engine line,so I left it in place and used a air drill to score the flange nut and then since there was no clearance to get a 36 mm wrench in there. , I then I used an air chisel to rotate/loosen the flange nut ,and It came off quite cleanly.threads were clean, but what a ***** of a job.smog lines came out of the lower block without any problem and I plugged them with 10mm x 1mm hex nuts.

Gawd the engine is so much more accessible, with out the smog lines, rear oil line and adjusting the valves, might actually be enjoyable now.

The best part, this 3.0l seems to sing with the SSI's and 2 in 1 out muff.
