Car Cover for my RSR Clone
Anyone recommend a good car cover for indoor winter storage that will fit my '73 RSR clone with wide flares and ducktail?

I bought a cheap $35 cover for my car, to keep dust off it while it's stored indoors. I got it at Autozone. The back of the box had a fitment chart for the correct size for common cars. I first bought the cover size for 911 w/ whaletail and it was way too big, so I exchanged it for the next smaller size, whiched turned out to be a 911 w/o whale tail. It would easily fit your car even with a duck. The cover has worked great to keep my car shiny inbetween weekend thrashings.

I need the same one as Tom, please post the solution. If the Autozone is the answer, would you please post a pic of how it fits?
Thank you, Doug

They carry some cheap covers at Walmart for $20.00. They don't keep the weather out but they do keep the dust off. The are in standard sizes Sm. Med. Lg. and Ex. Lg.

Below are pictures of my RSR replica without and with the cover that came with the car when I bought it two years ago. Note that the last picture shows that the cover is for an Toyota MR2 (Motor Trend's '85 Car of the Year).
When you think about the shape and demsnsions of a RSR/911Turbo and a Toyota MR2, who would a thunk that the cover for one would fit the other so well. Since I only us it in the garage or when at the track, I haven't seen a need to replace it - it fits and does the job intented.

I'm going to assume a Hummer car cover would be more than sufficient. With more than enough material, an upholstery shop should be able to stitch you something closer in shape. You'll have to do some research for something more shape-conforming off the shelf.
Or maybe an upholstery shop can add some material onto a standard 930 cover (buy two and make one large one). Sherwood |

You guys! why not buy a 930 cover made by one of the "custom cover" houses? There will be a little more room for bumpers and tail but it will be very close.
Alternatively, call one of the custom cover houses and see if they can make you one with slight dimensional modifications from the 930 cover. Even a great cover isn't that expensive, and for me at least it is worth it to have something that fits.

I think the one I use is for a 993S or 996S. Any later widebody with a small, modern tail.
