Has anyone else out there thought that maybe the center panel just needs to be removed? I removed mine and cut some holes in the panel to get a bit of the retro factory race car feel, and just maybe allow some of the turbocharged heat to escape. I still plan on installing some black mesh on the backside to finish it off.

I'm not making them at the moment, as I still haven't finished the new mold.

I don't do them in colors - they're either carbon fiber or fiberglass, and you paint it whatever color you want.

Looking forward to seeing the finished fiberglass product. I trust we will see a post here at that time.

Ok, I'm about to resume production. Since I haven't had the free time to work on these, I'm farming out production to the same shop that does the RS heater tubes for me. This will make the panels a little more expensive, but they're going to be a lot nicer (and hopefully more timely!). I made a better mold, so they'll fit even better than the first version.

I'd like to get a feel for how many people still want these, and in what material. We can do carbon fiber, fiberglass, and even carbon-kevlar if you really want. Please post here or email me @ thom@rennlight.com - please don't PM me because my PM box is perpetually full.

I hope to have firm pricing by this weekend.

Thom... are you gonna offer the color accented kevlar?
I bet somebody with a red car would like that red kevlar, etc.

Thom, earlier in this thread you mentioned that the difference in weight between these (CF? FG?) and the stock piece was about that of a bran muffin diet!

Do you have actual weights of the CF and FG pieces vs. stock?

Thanks!

Not being a drug dealer, I don't have a scale light enough to weigh them

Weights

OEM reflector, up to 1986(?) - 18oz,
OEM reflector, 1986(?) and later - 21oz

Both were weighed without mounting h/w

Carbon fiber reflector panel, 6oz w/o h/w, 7oz w/h/w

I don't have a weight for the fiberglass panel yet.
