P201 engine holder question

I just bought whatI thought was a P201, but it only has 4 supporting bars, vs. the 5 bars on the one Pelican sells. It was supposedly an original tool that a factory trained mechanic used for many years before retiring. I am wondering if the the design was changed at some point and why? Last I am wondering if the flywheel lock will work with mine.

Sorry, no camera at work. I can post pics later.

I have also have a VW one; that's the 2 bar and looks like this:

Mine looks exactly like this, but with 4, instead of 5 bars:

Here's my answer per Chris Bennet:
Quote:
There were 2 arm stands for the lighter VW/356 motors. The 4 arms are/were for the 911 motors and the 5 arm type came out around the time the same time as the 964 or 993 I think.
So the 4 bar is the old, pre-3.6 standard. Amazing what 20 minutes of searching will give you.

My 4-bar one works just fine. Stop worrying, start working.
