Your comments about airflow over an "apex" of a curve ( nice description !)...is actually very opposite of what happens in air-flow studies. I'm surprised RUF didn't consider this as a flaw in their approach originally, as predicted by theory. To cite functional examples, look at the front-fender top vents on some racing cars ( 917K comes to mind) that are placed just "behind" the top curvature. Air will suck out better there. - Wil

Whether it's functional or not, I personally like the NACA ducts. It gives the Yellowbird character and is like a trademark for RUF's creation
