Heater motor brush source?
The heater blower motor in the engine compartment failed several years ago. I finally took the time to remove it and took it apart. I looks to be in very good shape overall, however, the carbon brushes are completely worn out and one was no longer making contact. Does anyone know of a source for replacement brushes? Thanks, Jack.

Perhaps an electric motor shop? Maybe if you take it in they can help you out.

I got some from a local hardware store that had a box of brushes used in 14V hand drills, but I dont know what brand they were, I just went thru the box and found something close and filed it down to fit.

What Craig said-
I've made 'em out of brushes taken from vacuum cleaners, electric drills and any other motors you find in the trash. Just file/sand until they fit properly.

I did the same with brushes from Sears Hardware-find something close, and grind to modify if needed. You can also solder the wire on if you need a different config.

There's no magic to the motor, even though it comes out of a Porsche. If you don't want to DIY, take it to a local motor repair shop. I'm sure they'll be able to fit new brushes.

This is what I would suggest. Many Sears Hardware stores have them in the in the section with all the screws, bolts, nuts etc. A vacuum or motor repair shop may be able to help as well.
