Nose bearing leaking, what's cure?

I changed the pulley seal last year, it is still leaking. I did a search and DavidI uses Curil-T to stop the leak. I have Curil T, but is there anything else that will work?

Is it leaking from the inside or the outside? Curil T on the inside is what most recommend (I used when building and it doesn't leak). If it's the outside, just act like it's not leaking until it becomes a waste hazzard site.

It is leaking from the OD of the bearing.

I've had some luck cleaning the area thoroughly and using JB Weld around the #8. The aluminum will be impregnated with oil to you really want to clean the area with some sort of solvent.
I'd be surprised if Curil-T (that green non hardening sealant) would work in that application. I could see it working if you used it during assembly but I doubt it would work applied to the outside.

On case leaks I have had excellent results with DOW 730 sealant. It is oil and gas resistant and remains flexible. The stuff ain't cheap. It is $74.00 a tube from Aircraft Spruce.

yel, I used Dow Corning 730 to stop my leak. I tried Curil T, but it failed. Like Kurt says, it is expensive junk.

I highly recommend it. To make it work, you must get the area very clean and let it cure over a week's time.

OK,

Who wants to sell me a single use of the Dow corning 730. Send me the tube, and I'll send it back with the payment.

I don't even know where to get the stuff.

It worked, the white DC730 did it. I spent a saturday removing stuff, spread it on, parked it for a week, and drove it. No leaks.
