I prefer the smaller boot such as that used on the Rennshift. Less form and just as much if not more function that the stock or leather boot. I'm a stock boot fan, too, though.

By all means install the boot. It will match the wheel and bring up the interior a notch without adding weight! Something to fondle while stuck in traffic.

If this is the last thread regarding the looks of something, or such in technical, that means the website is dead and gone.

George-no offense taken! We established new technical terms like nutsack and tobacco bag. So it was very productive indeed! PS: See my post on looking for a 928 for my garage

				 | Man, I wouldn't be worrying about the shift boot. In my opinion that has to be just one of the nicest looking targas I've ever seen - one of the nicest looking 911's in fact. Its beautiful!

Ed, are your door handles chormed. Also it looks like the Targe bar is silve as well, or is that just the lighting? Very nice looking BTW. Though my interior of my '83 SC is completely stock, I have been thinking about getting a leather boot as well. My car's interior is completely leather. The dash, door panels, rear deck, etc. It seems odd that Porsche wouldn't make the boot leather as well. The "plinger" is really out of place IMHO. Where did you get yours?

S2gart: The car was special ordered with the S/S bar and the bright trim, as well as a color to sample. Ain't she special? I got the boot on Ebay from AGLA for $17.95... PS- I drove two 928's today, an '82 3 spd auto and a '93GTS 4 spd auto A totally different experience, but talk about the ultimate cruiser...To quote Alain de Cadenet: "bags and bags of grunt". I think having cousins together in my garage is in the cards.

The boot is fine - the knee bolster is interestingly bright
