				I bought a car wierd chasis number help
			 
			this is aparently a 1976 SC  CARRERA car the number I cannot make out it is a german sold car built in 1, 3, 1974 cahsis number 911 6 6 0280 this seccond 6 was for the RS cars marked SC 3.0 L RS cars are also marked SC can any one find this numer on a chart from Germany I have doubts of it being a 1974 RS 3.0

			It wasn't built in 1974 with that VIN number ... which should be 10 digits long, not 9!  The '0' for coupe digit is missing. The VIN is well into Carrera 3 production for the fall/winter of 1975/76. The first 124 or so of the 1976 '6' chassis numbers were the last of the Carrera 2.7s, which were not called RS for the 1974 - 76 models. Give us some pics and the engine type number and serial number ... I'm betting it is a CIS Carrera 3 engine with 3-pin CDI unit and small distributor.

			The photo is not good enough for me to enlarge and read the print on the 'brief.  If it says "erste zulassng" (or something like that, my German is rusty) next to the date, then believe that's the date of first being registered, not build date. Try a better scan or photo so we can read what it says and will try again. Joe A
