Please help.. need PET part number 69 911
Hey guys,
Sorry for such a lame thread, but my local porsche dealer is also pretty f'n lame. I need the exact part number for the hard metal brake line that goes from the master cyclinder through tunnel to the rear junction box . I'd make my own up, but they only sell lines that are 5' long at the Autoparts store. The local guy sent me a schematic that I clearly pointed out, but they have angered me quite a bit now. HELP! I'll try to help, but since I don't own a 69' and I'm not sure of the schematics I was looking @. Anyhow I saw 2 lines that go to the resevoir (thats not what your looking for...right?) then there are 2 lines that come off the side of the M/C. The one tht looks like it goes back over the top of the M/C is # 901-355-612-00. This line appears to go to an "angled pipe" (as per PET) # 901-355-611-01
then there is a brake line from the angled pipe to the distributor which is # 914-355-667-00 I hope this helps, I really have no frame of reference, but it would seem to me that it would either be the one that connects directly to the M/C or the last # I gave you, that you are looking for.

Michael,
From the original ’69 only paper parts manual it is #33 Central brake line 901.355.611.01. This was plain steel with no coating. I think the same from ’65. In ’72 the part changed to 911.355.611.01 and I think the only thing that changes is it is then painter with a gray-green anti-corrosion protective coating. This part stayed the same through the ’87 MY. I suspect the ’88 and later part 911.355.611.04 could be modified for use but the front end isn’t a direct replacement. A part from a salvage ’72-’87 might be a good bet. The later the better. Inspect the pipe under the fittings for damage (bending, twisting or corrosion). Install with grease between the pipe and the fitting and on the fitting threads. Keep the grease out of the brake fluid area. " ![]() © Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche A.G. Best, Grady |

Thanks guys... I know I can always count on the senior guys to come through ! Looks like ti Need to just buy all the little hard parts and redo the whol system. I don't mind since its the most critical system int he whole car. At least finally I have my engine with Henry @ SuperTec. Lets hope he can do the build with no snags.
Michael
