How to remove a rearview mirror...sort of

1. Read as many previous posts as possible on subject.
2. Decide to use 3M adhesive release agent on mirror base.
3. Lay windshield flat on workbench.
4. Soak the mirror base with release agent
5. Go pour a beer into tall glass, stare at windshield a while.
6. Go eat dinner, forget beer on workbench.
7. After dinner, come back to windshield.
8. Think "one good sideways rap with a rubber mallet might
do it!".
9. Successfully remove rear-view mirror bracket. Oh yeah, rediscover forgotten beer glass after it has been
decapitated by the flying mirror base. "There's that beer!" Still some left, too.
And the moral is...

I hate to see good beer go to waste! You couldn't do that again if you tried.

And the moral is...
Don't put down your beer until you have drunk it all, and then only to replace it with another

Masterfully done, Mike! This is why I never take beer into my workshop. I hate to waste it!
Thanks for the tip!
