3.0 with bae turbo muffler problem
Maby somebody can help me with this question. I have a 3.0 with a bae turbo kit on it in a 72 T and I have been messing with different mufflers trying to make them fit but none of them seem to want to. I fabed a plate for the turbo because the bolt pattern is different than stock turbo> Can you run strait pipe on a turbo with no muffler??? I had read somewhere that the turbo acts as a muffler some what I know it will still be load but I like it like that and what about back pressure??? Any help would be appreciated

Back pressure after the turbo is unproductive and should be minimized to improve efficiency. Having said that, running a straight pipe after the turbo would be a track only modification IMO.
The turbo will muffle the exhaust note a little bit but is not a replacement for a proper muffler. Your neighbors will thank you as well as the local law enforcment employees. |
