Someone........... post a pic of the MM biz ---
|
Hey
i too was at one point , a horrified MM victium. I found out when i though it was too-late forsure, they sent me back my engine, "fully rebuild and upgraded".... and beleive it or not.... it was..... however they did take FOREVER...and the break in period took a long time.... i went to there shop....they literaly have more buisness than any other Porsche rebuild shop i've ever been too, the day i was there, they were run testing my engine, that same day there was something like 6 being picked up for delivery, and 5 more being run tested.... thats 12 engines ready in one day.... i guess i was a lucky one that got what i ordered...however i had the engine ripped apart and checked over the day i got it back...and it did have one very minor flaw, that according to my mechanic is VERY common from alot fo the CA bulk rebuilders.... one of the bearings on the crank, however on my 30 year old crank, it did not firt properly..... this problem wouldn;t have showed up form 10 years... but still.... one other reason to dislike motormiester is that they use NGK spark plugs...uggghhhh...lol... i know this isn't what other people have said, and that it defiently doesn;t seem to be the norm....but they did an very good tear down and build on my engine....inculding the boring etc... hope u get it away from them...as chances seem to be against you.. Happy Ending!
Talked with Roy Marks (Motor Mister main man) today 3/7/06. Said he has read this post (a customer of his told him about it) and knew why I was upset. He said they had not touched my engine and it is being shipped back to me. He also said since they did nothing to it that there was no bill. Not a penny. He actually was very nice even after reading all of this. I am going to send certified mail confirming as well as a fax just so everything stays good. So as it stands right now its looking like everything is ok and motor is on its way. Thanks Everyone.http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/...s/beerchug.gif

I have to ask the question, how much does the "main man" of Motor Meister know about his business? In other words is he actively involved in the operations of this entity? I ALWAYS try to give the benefit of the doubt, but I've heard too many horror stories. I want to know the dirty on what's going on there!

The man running the business is ultimately responsible for what goes on there. Selling 'new ' parts when they haven't inventory to cover them is fraud. I'm guessing, by the comments and accusations on this board that MM is working on P.T. Barnham's famous dictum:"There's a sucker born every minute." It seems if someone is close by and is able to keep an eye on them, they are capable of doing the work properly.
If I was the operator of a business that had a reputation like that, I'd be working hard to rectify things before someone took my business away with a sharp lawyer. (Or opened my skull with a sharp instrument.) Caveat emptor. Les |
Hey guys want to guess what a mm rebuilt 3.0 with 964 cams and 78/79 larg intake runners puts out????
any one hmmmn after 3100 miles with oil leaks 1 dead piston and smoke gallore it puts out a hefty 155hp that righ boys aand girls 25 hp less than when i shipped it to him and i added a straight pipe too. every day i drive this every day i squese my steering wheel into a pretsil and yes Roy knows what the &^*uck is going on and his assembly line mexicans in the back with no direction picking from used parts (if your not local) that many people local see him at flee markets buying knowing they are bad but still going to put in your engine. |
If Roy is indeed monitoring this thread, then I think we should give him the opportunity to pipe up and defend himself. As a business owner myself, I know that just ONE unhappy customer is one too many.
So let's hear it, Roy. What do you have to say for yourself? Roy? Roy? Roy?.......................................... (the sound of crickets) |
I sincerely hope those in charge at Panorama are following this and other threads concerning the continuing fraud of Motor Meister. By continuing to allow MM advertising access to the magazine, PCA's reputation gets tarnished.

1) Why doesn't Roy (or anyone from MM) ever respond? He's losing LOTS of customers (and more importantly, money) from threads like this. Then again, maybe he has more business than he knows what to do with, so who cares? Certainly no one in any position to cause him to shutter his doors. 2) What kind of "customer" reads a thread like this, and still goes to MM? And said customer doesn't respond via this message board? Weird. |
One thing that this confirms for me is (I don't recall what Motor Meister charges) what it REALLY costs to build one of these engines...RIGHT! When you really get into it, this stuff quickly adds up even with a person willing to do some of it on their own. I'm doing the final assembly for example. No lie, I'll have close to $6,000 invested in the machine shop alone! Granted this includes some mods like twin plug heads, etc. Expensive? YES! However, EVERY one of my parts has been lovingly checked, measured, blueprinted, documented, and made right again! They were cleaned, machined, cleaned again, oven dried, and bagged! I figured I had ONE shot to do it right and I just wasn't willing to roll the dice! I'll have close to another $4,000 in the other "stuff"": oil lines, gaskets, cams, new Ps&Cs, etc. But I'm hoping NEVER to go in there as long as I own this car!

Right on favrok01, I'm with you bud.
After my MM experience I hate Porsche's almost as much as Roy. Something should have been done a long time ago. And what about Lee the supposed Guru builder? Nobody has ever said anything about him to my knowledge. I always felt sorry for the stuttering S.O.B but he has got to be as guilty as Roy. Something that has been in the back of my mind since I got my motor from them was whether it was stolen or not so I am finally having the serial numbers checked with law enforcement. I don't know what good it would do since it has been 5 years. |
I believe that he is reading this post due to the comments he made to me on the phone. I think he should respond as well..Thanks all

When you look at the quoted prices in the MM ad, it drives home the old saying "The most expensive thing you can do is buy cheap."
