How long does it take to swap out the front sway bar bushings?

I plan on tackling this job on Satruday and was wondering how many hours should I take for swapping out the bushings? Any tips?

not to drop the "do a search" hammer on you, but here is a recent thread>> front sway bar bushing replacement that i found by searching for "sway bushing".

try that search and you will find more threads that will help you along. i would suspect about two hours, give or take depending on your mechanical abilities.

I'd give it a day. Relax, clean and paint things as you go.
2 hours would be for a shop mechanic simple R & R.

Don't forget to pretreat your bolts ahead of time and have some serious heat available, both to heat the old rubber bushings and to heat a subborn bolt. One thing you DO NOT want to do is break an old bolt. That wll certainly make it a long, long job.

A side note: Someone recently said the bolts used on the front and rear suspension attachment to the body were "welded" bolts and therefore not a very good grade. I don't know about such things, but I did break one of the rear bolts holding the outsde bushing retainer. So, they break fairly easily, that I do know.

I would buy new ones ahead of time and simply replace as you go. The search will give you the lengths, or you can pull one of each the night before and run to the FLAPS or Home Defect and get some. They don't need to be anything more than the 8.8 grade which are easy to locate.

On the Carrera it could be an hour to the longest day of your life. The fixed sway bars are a real bear.
