CIS electrical connection question
Well, I am finally ready to start my engine after changing the air box, I think. Work has interfered with my free time to tinker with the car so it has taken forever.
I had one of my buddies offer to come over and help finish it up last weekend. I agreed, thinking he would just drink beer and ask silly questions. While I was working on something else, he actually dug in and tried to help. One of the things he did was to plug in the electrical connections to the cold start injector and frequency valve. No biggie, they were properly labeled with colored zip ties. I always label hoses and plugs with colored zip ties to make sure they go back where they belong, and after plugging in the connectors he cut all the zip ties off. It was a no brainer hooking up the red to red, blue to blue, but the decription of no-brainer fits my buddy perfectly, especially after he has had a beer or three. I want to make sure he (we) did it right before trying to start the engine and frying the system or something. Now to the question: Is there a simple way to ID the connector plugs for the frequency valve and cold start injector to make sure they are where they are supposed to be? Tracing the wire loom, checking the 14 pin connector, etc. Thanks in advance. Last edited by sammyg2; 03-29-2006 at 08:58 AM.. |

Also, you won't fry anything if those two are reversed. You'll just start the car, it will run for a second or two then die, then you curse and reverse them again. Ask me how I know.

If you can hear your frequency valve busing when you turn your key ON the connection is ok. Jim gave you the right connections..! Vic ![]() ![]() |

Thanks bunches guys.
I'll check it tonight if i ever get off work. I know the air flow switch is connected right and working, I turned on the key and lifted the air flow sensor plate to prime the system and the injectors fired. I know the throttle switch is connected right, it has a different style plug. I was just worried about the CSV and the frequency valve connections being switched. |
