No Spark After Engine Out/In - what are the likely culprits?
I'm having a difficult time getting my car back on the road after pulling the tranny for repairs. It's been down over a month waiting on WEVO parts and other "while the engine is out" stuff.
So here's what we have. The motor fired up after a very long cranking session. Ran perfectly for about 10 minutes and I shut it down. The world was good. The next night it would not fire. After eliminating fuel I went for the spark. I pulled a plug and left it sitting in the engine attached to the lead while cranking the starter. First crank it sparked and the engine tried to start. Shut it down and see if it will repeat. It did not. After several attempts and checking the wiring connections it is dead as a doornail. I've apparently screwed something up while the engine was out. What are the likely culprits and how should I methodically check this?

I have found that if the battery is low, the ignition won't fire, even though the starter may still turn the engine.

The infamous "Green Wire" is always a possibility.

You're not gonna beleive this (or maybe you will) - the problem has NOTHING to do with the engine out/in.
I put a remote starter switch on the starter and turned the key to the "run" position (thanks for the tip Tripster). Hit the button and the engine roars to life. Talk about pissed off! I've had half the engine tore apart looking for shorts, missed plug-ins, grounds, and fuel problems only to find out I have an electrical problem in the ignition switch!!!!
