Reading your PO's receipts
I really enjoy reading this forum for its sheer educational value. In the 3 years I have owned this car, I've learned many things, most from my browsing of this BBS. (a few other things i learned were from lack of a PPI, which I may have learned about had I ---- browsed this BBS.)
All this makes it even more fun to go over my receipts from 2 PO's of my car. I have learned that, since 1984, my car has had no less than 4 (yes, four) fuel pumps, 2 steering racks, and approximately 24 (4 sets) of fuel injectors; which of course were spread out between the 2 engines. Oh yes, and don't forget the 2 gas tanks. I wish they could have put a CIS gas tank in when they put in that CIS engine, though. It's also a great way to find recurring problems in the car. Oh, and very interesting to see how some shops will "carpet bomb" the car with parts if they know the owner will pay with no question. Me, not so much. My favorite was where one shop performed a "modify oil pressure valve and spring", for $35, which included the 4 washers the guy stuffed under the pressure relief spring. What's your favorite PO receipt story?

Please share the invoices with me. Perhaps I can give more insight. I’m available for breakfast most mornings – my treat. I live sorta near I-25 and Yale.
