I am wondering if anyone has every stripped their black window trim and polished it to give you a chrome look to your window trim?
I gave it a shot with the clip that joins the two parts and the clip actually polished up pretty well. I was thinking that after you polished it you could clear coat it and you would be all set. Am I nuts? Rich

Hi,
I'm looking to do this too. How did you go? Or does anybody have any input?

I did mine with a razor blade, 220 grit, 400 grit and some steel wool and "flitz" polish The razor blade cuts though the anodizing then it is just a process of progressively going finer till you polish
It is some work but comes out looking nice. hit it with some carnuba wax afterwards. Clearcoating would just be a PIA and would actually reduce the shine. Roman 78 targa |
