prototipo install almost done, but...

i've got the whole hub mounted, aligned properly, got the blinker stop thing from the old wheel on there, works great... BUT... the little ring that goes in between the wheel intself and the hub, it has a male connector thing sticking out of it...? Well, this little tab is preventing me from snapping the horn button in and i can;t figure out any reason not to just break it off (!?) and connect the two wires (the one old one that came with the backing plate that holds the blinker stop and the new wire that connects to the horn button itself.) Basically, i am just winging it at this point with no guidance at all from the crappy momo instructions or any posts that i found. The wheel is all mounted with the 6 allen screws and i even drove the thing (couldnt wait!) and its fine but i gotta get this horn button figured out. The tab on the ring is just sticking out into the middle, with no purpose that i can tell (the ground for the button appears to be a brass colored wire that goes around the button itself and snaps in, contacting the ring.) Help? thanks

Hi Indica, I wouldn't bother snapping it off, just put the ring on as-is but with the tab facing the column rather than the horn buttton (see pic).

Mine is done like that and works fine, no probs.

Cheers, John G in the UK
