The classics like Zepplin, Clash, AC/DC go without saying. For newer music Avenged Seven fold has a great bass and drum combo that initiates acceleration.

My 911's only sound system is the MFI in the back. With that, who needs recorded music.
But would I be showing my age if I asked if any considered "Highway Star" by Deep Purple??? Oh -- Never mind!

I have a pretty good collection of Rammstein music - all in German. Very good go-fast music. I also like White Zombie (with Sean) and some Rob Zombie stuff post-Sean as go-fast.
Never really found Manson to be good go-fast music. It's good and hard, but just doesn't have the drive that sends my foot to the floor.

What about "LaGrange" from ZZTop? No singing...just music with a very good beat...quite long...very nice to just focus on driving...accompanies well the carbs roar in the back...

I've put together several "drive" CDs, each with a regional theme.
The "German Drive" CD features Rammstein mixed in with Funker Vogt, Kraftwerk, Peter Schilling, cuts from the Run Lola Run soundtrack, some of Wagner's Ring cycle, Marlene Dietrich and a military band playing the German national anthem. The "UK Drive" CD features among others the Propellerheads, William Orbit, Paul Oakenfold, Massive Attack, Pete Townshend and Dire Straits. The "French Drive" CD includes Air, Daft Punk, Rinocerose, Francoise Hardy, and cuts from the Amelie soundtrack. The "Southern Rock" CD includes Black Oak Arkansas, Pat Travers Band, Molly Hatchet, Tom Petty and Lynyrd Skynyrd. All of the discs promote high speed driving although the French one more often than not makes me want to roll down the window and wave my hand in the breeze. |

Songs for taking off from a stand still and high reving 1, 2, 3, and possibly 4 gear getting onto a highway?
Motley Crew - Wild Side Guns n Roses - You Could Be Mine, and Rocket Queen Sotto Voce - Hats Off (http://www.sottovoceband.com) <--- this is good for not just revving but driving fast in general! White Zombie - Black Sunshine Last edited by sepsis311; 05-03-2006 at 11:09 AM.. |
