Engine Drop Question
I've got a 3.2L and I was curious if I should remove the heat exchangers prior to the drop? Is it OK to support the weight of the engine on the heat exchangers...utilizing a piece of plywood on a furniture dolley?
What is the best way to remove the heat exhangers while the engine is in? I couldn't use my socket wrench/hex bit/extension because the base of the socket was too wide. It looks like you need a very long hex bit...what's the best tool for future reference?

Leave them on.....They will support the weight of the engine very nicely. To remove the HE's, spray with PB Blaster, let sit a few days and repeat several times. Then use heat (torch) and be careful to not break any studs....

I agree don't remove them. they can support the weight and make a nice platform if you use a ATV type of jack to support the motor
