I'm of the belief that a 911 has to have flared rear fenders to put on any kind of rear spoiler or the back end just looks too heavy.
(So my vote is leave it as is.)

I agree with Doug...no flares = no spoiler. But, it is your car; do what makes you happy!
I guess I'm a traditionalist/old curmudgeon regarding these sort of things. With that said, I'm about to put a ducktail on my 993. But it has very wide hips.

I'm a reformed tail-hater and may put the duck on my Carrera after the lip spoiler mod. But I have flares, and others are wise to point out that makes a big difference in the look. Do as you wish and drive it silly. Nice ride!

I agree with putting a duck on a flaired car, not on a narrow body. Gotta have some back

I vigorously agree that a 911 needs some back in order to quack.
I do, however, appear to be in the minority when it comes to ducks on Targas looking sensational. before ![]() after ![]() |

yes to S spoiler
yes to duck, but only if you go with wider rear wheels. no to duck with current wheels

I know that it's hard not to tinker, but don't muck it up, it's just right as it sits.....well maybe the S spoiler is ok.

I think it's okay to duck without flares...but maybe I'm just biased
![]() Sorry about the crappy quailty...I don't have a digital camera except for my phone...and yes I know, it needs to be painted ![]() ![]()

Banned but not out, yet..

IMNSHO, a flared coupe's lines flow better to a duck than a targa - sorry targa/duck lovers. The roof line of the coupe flows more gracefully to the upswing of the duck. The targa's rear window is more severely angled which then 'fights' the line of the duck's upswing.
Leave as is, or go with the 'S' splitter. Duck the duck.

I would say that a ducktail is the only tail that look good on a targa, except those that fits in the passager seat
![]() If I find a cheep used duck I'll put it on my Targa.
