do you know if they cut away the area where the rear seats used to be? Any chance you can get Doc to take a pic from the underside of the new "seat area"

Thanks

Jeff, yes Doc had to take out the rear seats for the camberboxes. There are quite a few photos that show what was put in it's place. Basically, it's a sheet metal box/access door that has ribs bent into it to avoid flexing like an oilcan. I was given the choice of hinges, Dzus fasteners or rivets...I opted for the rivets which can be drilled out easily. As far as photos of the area removed from underneath looking up and inside looking down...there are at least 4 perfect photos on the first page of the thread, halfway down, showing the extent of the surgery. If you need additional info, don't hesitate to post, PM, etc.

This pic shows good attention to detail, the reflection stays true as it passes from fender to door to fender.... nice true body.

Looking great!

Cheers

No! That's the "Tyco" body-adapter for electric track racing and only missing the guide-post at the front with the braided contact leads.

PS: Can't wait to see it finished! Nice work!

In addition, there are some RSR mods that Doc does just like the factory employed: he welds attachments from the torsion tube to the part of the chassis directly to the side of the tranny...supposed to stiffen the torsion tube and prevent twisting/flexing due to higher loads from bigger tires & stiffer T-bars. With the torsion tube tied on either side to the longitudinal panels below the cut out and the engine compartment rear cross beam above, my guess is that the rear seat area provided very little in the way of stiffness in that area anyway. I'm sure once the cage is in , the car will be much more rigid than a stock chassis w/no mods.
