Window switch problem...
My drivers side window doesn't work, but the passenger switch on my side and the passenger side works, so I kind of ruled out the fuse, unless there are 2?
I changed the actual switch, didn't change anything. What's the next step? BTW, unless I'm drunk, the fuse box looks quite strange compared to my other cars. Do you have to unscrew the fuses?

do you have the wires in the correct place? Since you changed out the switch does the switch to the passenger side window work?

ya, passenger side worked before and after I changed the switch. Previous owner said it died about a week before I went down to check it out. I swapped one wire at a time, pretty sure they are in the right place..........unless they were in the wrong place to begin with, d'oh!

HI the back of the switch has 5 connectors, 1 at the top RED, the 2 center are green or black, the 2 bottom the red jump wire from the top to the bottom left, brown on the other, basically pull the pass switch out that is working and fit the wires in the same pattern, red and brown, the green and the black in the center connectors, as the pass switch has red/white and red/black.
or is this all double dutch to you if so i can send the wiring diagram if you require. regards mike |

Remove the door panel and apply 12 volts directly to the motor...or from the switch apply 12 volts to the green wire and ground the black wire.

Waht MB said...
When I bought my 911, neither of the power windows worked at all and the added bonus was that when you pushed the drivers window to the 'up' position, it blew the fuse. The bonus was that the car had new door panels... 20 minutes of fidling around with a multi tester was all it took to figure it out. My guess is that the wires are connecter wrong on your car too.

Always a good idea to check the connections when reseating the fuses. Fuse may not look blown, but replacing with a new one sometimes works.
