Chain tensioner rebuild kit part number?
Anyone have the part number for the pre-Carrera tensioner rebuild kit from the dealer handy? Thanks.
Also, what kind of oil do I use to refill them? Motor oil? Olive oil? Baby oil?

I was afraid that would be the case
![]() Pelican doesn't carry the kit but one of the other "PP" sites have a "tensioner repair kit" for $27, anybody tried it? I'll contact them tomorrow but would like to know whether my only option is to put in the Carrera tensioners. It's just that $$$ is tight now.

If I remember there wasn't much diff. between the Carrera setup and just replacing the stock tentioners. Did you inspect and find a failing tentioner?

Call Jimmy Deering at Mobile Works East 916-420-8774 He knows where to find them. He just rebuilt my early ones not too long ago.

Superceded to 911.105.901.01 ... NLA from Pelican
BTW, in 1979 ... I rebuilt a collapsed tensioner with three locally-obtained O-rings ... #13, #20, & #21 below. It lasted just fine for the three months that the replacement tensioners were on back order from Germany! ![]() ![]()

Thanks, Guy! I'll phone the dealer tomorrow.
Warren, are OR 8,3 - 2,4 and such the specs for the o-rings that I can give to a local shop (if I can find one!) for the right stuff?
