Hi Ben

Nope, not ready yet, mine still has yours beat because it's already on my car ;)

I am using a J pipe setup, so the muffler is as stock, single in, in the stock location. IMO, yours may be much more difficult to use on a 3.2 than what I already have, though I am anxiously awaiting your HP and TQ output. I can't imagine removing my HE's without a huge battle with snapped studs aplenty.

here is some pics as of last night work and this mornings pics.

and as far as converting a 3.2 there is a bunch of info out there david has done it and jerry is starting his project shortlyhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1152623743.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1152623781.jpg

notice tail pipe and wastgate location

well its is alive. it is supurisingly quiet! It sounds good. no oil leaks. now to finish the vacum lines and go by the interface for the ecu and the laptop. then get some AFR numbers with WBO2 and figure out how to plug them in. Hopefully I can have all that done so when the rain stops I can go out there and get some boost

Mike Andrew 07-11-2006 08:57 AM

Excellent, Ben. It looks really nice &, hopefully, it goes like a bat outta hell too.

jbrinkley 07-11-2006 09:04 AM

cool

mb911 07-11-2006 11:21 AM

looking at all of this is making me question my descision to go for turbo style numbers with a high reving 3.5L...

but damn to i like ben's work...i expect his muffler to sound amazing.

jdm61 07-11-2006 03:28 PM

how much?

What kind of HP are you anticipating from this setup?

mb911 07-11-2006 04:32 PM

280 ish maybe with some tweaking 330i-350?? I will put an intercooler on shortly but I want to get it set correctly first before going to cutting up my deck lid

jdm61 07-11-2006 04:40 PM

i saw the old Protomotive specs for their regular Stage 1 and noticed that it didn't have a cooler. I would be somewhat hesitant to run any turbo without an intercooler.

mb911 07-11-2006 05:56 PM

intercoolers a required above 7 psi. I believe the 76 930s had no intercoolers on those 3.0

jdm61 07-11-2006 06:06 PM

hmmm.....the "improved" Protomotive Stage 1 kit runs at 7 lbs and has an intercooler. That might explain that.:D I haven't decided whether to go the crazy spending turbo route or the crazy spending 3.4l big bore Euro-compression, Webcam, ported, mass flow, etc, etc. NA route. either way, it's a ways off.

mb911 07-11-2006 07:31 PM

turbo can be had a bunch cheaper then big bore and from what I have tested first hand its pretty linear acceleration. n

Now anyone have pics of there airfilter setup?? I still need to get that figured out.

I also think I am going to put the wg further inward to make it disappear a little

k9handler 07-11-2006 10:58 PM

very nice work, get some batteries for the camera. ;o)

mb911 07-12-2006 07:08 AM

More pics to come

mb911 07-12-2006 05:11 PM

well now the fun part tuning! I need to relearn megasquirt and how to import files etc.. but hey it runs

mb911 07-12-2006 07:21 PM

here are some pics. What do you guys suggest for the air filter . I would like to get it in the engine compartment just in case of water etc.. Got any pics of your installs??http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1152760857.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1152760894.jpg

jbrinkley 07-13-2006 02:56 AM

what about comming up throught the tin closer to the front? like in this. pichttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1152788105.jpg
I think that's david's picture

greglepore 07-13-2006 03:09 AM

That last pic is how proto routes their air filter-mine actually does another 90 bend to lay it over on its side behind the throttle body. It'd be a little more cumbersome with a rear mount like Ben's, but workable.
