Front sidemarker not working...plus a couple other things..

Thought it was just a dead bulb, got some new ones, still no worky. All other buls working fine, what would be the next step?

Regulator for power window, behind the oil gauge? Does the gauge just pop out?

I have a new hood shock to install, but how do I know which side is needed?

And lastly, I'm getting my driver's seat recovered in the winter, any suggestions on where to send it, or should I just take it to any reupholstery shop and have it done right?

Rant over, love my 911.

I can help with question # 1 if you're talking about the running light beside the front turn signal.

I assume you've checked fuses. The light is fed by the turn signal circuit. There are 2 female spade connectors that attach a grd & a hot at the back of the inside of the turn signal 'bucket'. On the outside - accessible if you reach up & over from your wheel well - 2 female spades attach to these terminals & a wire goes from there into the running light 'bucket'. Check all of these connections. The grd connects by screw & loop terminal to 2 thin brass wipers which press on the bulb receptacle. Sand these lightly & also the outside of the bulb receptacle. That was my problem - just those brass wipers were corroded.

Ian

edit: Re hood shocks - best to replace them both.
