Targa Leaking. What Part Is It?

Hello guys,
My targa is leaking water and getting the carpet drenched. I see it leaking from the side quarter windows on both sides. Does anyone know how to replace it and what part# it is? Thanks.

The part you are talking about is the 911-Targa-Automobile, order one new unit.

It leaks, cabriolets leak too. They all do that. Don't drive it in the rain.

If your seals and top are in good shape there are some adjustments that can be made that may help you.

The adjustments are outlined in the following document:

http://radarhill.com/pdf_docs/targa_roof_repairs.pdf

if the link does not work just PM me with your email address and I send you a copy of the file when I get home tonight.

On page 6 of the Repair pdf document ... area #10 is critical area concerning window glass leaks, where a part called a Frame Connector resides ... Left is pn 911.542.065.41, Right is pn 911.542.066.41. The parts guy at Vasek Polak called it a 'squeegee' when I ordered a pair in 1978. Rivet is pn 900.056.003.20, and countersunk M5 x 8 screw is pn 900.270.050.07. The condition of the bonded rubber part of the squeegee is critical, and a tight, snug fit of the upper front leading edge of the window glass is important to eliminate window leaks!

Here are some screenshots ... part #15 is the culprit in the first, #12, #13 & #14 in the second:

Vic--
The existing rivets have to be drilled out and replaced with new ones upon reinstallation.

WRONG... they do not all leak Well, maybey all but one...But I can only speak for mine, I would not be so bold as to make a statement about the other umteen thousand that I have not yet evaluated.

You must have been pretty busy, checking out all those Targas and cabriolets.
