Re-installing G50 Shifter

I am contemplating the removal of my shifter to paint it (to keep over spray out of the inside of my car)....I have heard it is fairly easy to remove the assembly....however the person that gave me the info on getting it out....has not replaced one....so my question is...are there any secrets about the re-install....do I have to worry about messing up adjustment to the shift rod etc? My car shifts great now...and I don't want to mess anything up.

There was an article in Excellence ~ 4 yrs. ago and I scanned it for all to see.

G50 Shift

The search capabilities of this forum rock. I found it in a few minutes.

I have lines traced on the tunnel for when I take it out, fuel line replacement and what not, I have a wevo g50 shifter in there now and after removing the housing (stock) a couple times I believe where the housing actually sits on the tunnel doesn't really matter as long as full movement of whatever shifter you're using doesn't hit the side anywhere. I put the three (?) bolts in and check clearance at reverse and fith, and tighten it down, never had a problem.
